A skilled Field Technician is required to assist in the start-up commissioning, integration, emergency service, and troubleshooting of Vertiv's 480VAC/15KVAC electrical switchgear. This includes PDU, ATS, PDC, circuit breakers, protective relays, PLC, meters, and other automated devices, as well as mechanical repairs and modifications under the direction of senior technicians.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the start-up commissioning, integration, emergency service, and troubleshooting of electrical switchgear
- Establish and maintain excellent rapport with customers, co-workers, sales representatives, and others
- Evaluate the operating conditions of equipment
- Interact comfortably with all levels of internal and external customers
- Manage one's own schedule and perform general and preventive maintenance on switchgear
- Respond to emergency calls and strive to provide a 'first time fix' for equipment
- Provide accurate and timely communication to internal and external customers
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all safety policies, procedures, guidelines, and laws
- Provide accurate and timely reporting of time cards, expense reports, etc.
- Travel is required, with individual assignments typically 3 to 5 weeks in duration
- Working schedules are typically 10-12 hours per day, 5-6 days per week, day or night shift
- This is a hands-on field, travel-type position with up to 80% travel, potentially national/international
- Flexible schedules, including weekends, evenings, and holidays

- An elaborate training program for new hires, requiring travel to Columbus, Ohio as needed
