Job Description Summary:

Job Overview:

The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine seek a skilled Communications Project Manager to support the planning, execution, and successful delivery of communications projects. This role will work closely with senior communication professionals, creative teams, and other stakeholders to ensure projects meet business needs, are delivered on time and within budget, and achieve desired outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and manage business projects from design and development through implementation, ensuring projects stay on schedule and meet project parameters.

2. Create and maintain detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and risk assessments using Asana and Microsoft Teams.

3. Serve as the primary interface and point of contact for key stakeholders, ensuring deliverables, requirements, schedules, cost, and meeting plans are communicated effectively.

4. Forecast resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner, allocating resources, budgets, and hours to the project(s) and adjusting allocations when necessary.

5. Prepare and manage budget based on scope of work and resource requirements, defining staffing and other requirements, and tracking project costs to meet budget.

Requirements:

* Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall)

* Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Asana) and communication technologies

* Proven experience in managing communications technology implementation projects

* Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines

* Ability to work successfully in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

* PMP Project Management certification

Work Environment:

Hybrid Office/Telecommute environment, expected onsite percentage 40%, with occasional travel between National Academies facilities and to off-site meeting/sponsor locations.
