Geotechnical Engineer

As a Geotechnical Engineer at Jacobs, you will be part of a dynamic team working on a wide range of civil infrastructure projects. Your role will involve working with senior geotechnical engineers to select geotechnical design parameters, analyzing field logs and laboratory results, and using computer programs to complete engineering analysis.
Key Responsibilities:- Design shallow and deep foundations, earth retaining structures, ground improvement, embankments, cut slopes, and other geotechnical structures
- Perform seismic hazard analyses, including site-response studies, liquefaction evaluations, seismic slope stability evaluations, etc.
- Prepare clear and well-organized calculation packages, technical memorandums, technical reports, data reports, and baseline reports
- Review construction submittals for compliance with contract requirements and design assumptions
- BS in Civil Engineering or MS in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on Geotechnical Engineering or Geological Sciences
- Graduate-level course work supporting a strong technical knowledge of the principles of soil mechanics and geotechnical design
- Knowledge of computer programs for geotechnical analysis, such as Settle3D, Slide, APile, Unipile, LPILE, Shaft, FB-MultiPier, DeepXcav, GRLWeap, FLAC, PLAXIS, gINT, SNAP2, and MathCAD

Typical salary range for this position is $72,000 - $95,000 and is commensurate with experience relative to the position. For remote positions, salary is geographic-dependent.
