About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated School Psychologist to join our team at Soliant Education. As a School Psychologist, you will play a vital role in supporting the mental health and academic success of students in a dynamic and engaging educational environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Comprehensive Assessments: Conduct thorough evaluations to assess students' cognitive, emotional, and behavioral needs, utilizing various assessment tools to provide accurate diagnoses and develop effective intervention strategies.
  • Counseling and Support: Provide individual and group counseling to students facing emotional, behavioral, or psychological challenges, developing and implementing intervention plans to support students' mental health and academic success.
  • Crisis Intervention: Respond to and manage psychological crises, offering immediate support and creating action plans to address urgent issues impacting students.
  • Collaborative Teamwork: Partner with teachers, administrators, and other school staff to develop and implement strategies that address students' needs and enhance their educational experience.
  • IEP and 504 Plan Development: Contribute to the creation and evaluation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans, providing insights and recommendations to ensure that students receive appropriate accommodations and support.
  • Family Engagement: Work closely with families to provide guidance, resources, and support, facilitating effective communication between home and school to address students' needs comprehensively.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze data from assessments, interventions, and academic performance to track progress and make data-driven recommendations for student support and program development.
Qualifications
  • Education: Masters or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Certification: Valid School Psychologist certification or license for the state of Illinois is required.
  • Experience: Prior experience working as a school psychologist or in a related educational setting is highly desirable.
  • Skills: Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, families, and staff while managing sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.
  • Approach: A student-centered approach focused on promoting mental health, academic achievement, and overall well-being.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with students, families, and educational staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
