Essential Responsibilities:
  • Ensure optimal facility utilization and exceptional customer service for all users. Collaborate with various groups to establish schedules, support levels, and policies.
  • Exercise decision-making authority to interpret and enforce university policies regarding priorities, customer service, and scheduling. Be accountable for the facility's overall performance and public perception.
  • Work closely with Auburn University Swimming & Diving coaches and other Athletic Department personnel to coordinate event-day operations. Organize staffing for events to positively reflect the University’s image.
  • Promote and organize events, programs, and daily facility usage. Collaborate with tourism boards and athletic organizations to explore hosting opportunities. Maintain the facility's online presence and ensure accurate financial transactions.
  • Supervise a diverse team of administrative, technical, maintenance, and student staff, ensuring high-quality service and safety for all users.
  • Manage the financial aspects of the facility, including labor, materials, and services. Prepare budget recommendations and oversee budget execution, prioritizing fund allocations.
  • Collaborate with other campus departments to execute contracts, events, facility projects, and student programming.
  • Adhere to all applicable NCAA and SEC regulations in the execution of job responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Five years of experience in facilities maintenance.
Required Skills and Abilities:
  • In-depth knowledge of facility operations and maintenance, including sports venues.
  • Expertise in aquatic facility management, operations, and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with event management software and timing systems.
  • Understanding of marketing and promotional strategies.
Licenses and Certifications:
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO).
  • American Red Cross Lifeguard and Lifeguard Instructor (or equivalent).
Desired Qualifications:
  • Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO).
  • American Red Cross Instructor Trainer (or equivalent).
