Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Delivery Driver II to join our team at Home Depot U.S.A., Inc. As a key member of our delivery team, you will be responsible for safely operating a tractor-trailer or straight truck to deliver large equipment to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a tractor-trailer or straight truck to deliver equipment to customers, ensuring timely and safe delivery.
  • Load and unload equipment on the trailer or flatbed truck, securing and tying down equipment properly.
  • Perform local deliveries and pick-ups of rental equipment to and from customer job sites.
  • Provide basic operational training on equipment use to customers, ensuring they understand proper and safe operation.
  • Verify equipment is clean and operational prior to and after each delivery, demonstrating high-quality customer service standards.
Requirements
  • Class A (Commercial Driver's License) CDL certification.
  • Valid DOT Physical Examination (Medical Card).
  • 2 years of tractor-trailer driving experience in the previous 5 years.
  • 1-year flatbed tractor-trailer experience in the previous 5 years.
  • Safe driving record - Clean MVR.
  • Knowledge of local major and minor roadways and ability to effectively use maps and directions for efficient delivery routing.
  • Working understanding of safe load securement, tie-downs, and transport.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of Motor Carrier Safety regulations/DOT guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to convey complex or technical ideas and processes in easy-to-understand terms to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to negotiate, handle complaints, settle disputes, and resolve grievances with both internal and external customers.
Working Conditions

This position typically requires working in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noise, and fumes that cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness.

Travel Requirements

This position typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Physical Requirements

This position requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, and lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.
