Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Rental Delivery Driver II to join our team at Home Depot. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for delivering large equipment to customers in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate a tractor-trailer or straight truck to deliver large equipment to customers.
  • Load and unload equipment on the trailer or flatbed truck, ensuring proper securing and tie-down.
  • Deliver equipment to customers, providing basic operational training and ensuring equipment is clean and operational.
  • Verify equipment is clean and operational prior to and after each delivery.
  • Utilize company technology platform to document all work performed and obtain required signatures on rental contracts.
  • Remain current on local licensing and safety requirements.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Regional Rental Manager, Rental Field Operations Manager, or other authorized personnel.
Requirements:
  • Class A (Commercial Driver's License) CDL certification.
  • Valid DOT Physical Examination (Medical Card).
  • 2 years of tractor-trailer driving experience in the previous 5 years.
  • 1-year flatbed tractor-trailer experience in the previous 5 years.
  • Safe driving record - Clean MVR.
  • Knowledge of local major and minor roadways and the ability to effectively use maps and directions for efficient delivery routing.
  • Working understanding of safe load securement, tie-downs, and transport.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of Motor Carrier Safety regulations/DOT guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to convey complex or technical ideas and processes in easy-to-understand terms to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to negotiate, handle complaints, settle disputes, and resolve grievances with both internal and external customers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Working Conditions:

Typically in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noise, and fumes that cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness.

Travel Requirements:

Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Physical Requirements:

Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, and lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.
