Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiovascular Technologist to join our team at AdventHealth Castle Rock. As a key member of our cardiovascular department, you will be responsible for providing specialized cardiovascular care, maintaining maximum patient safety and comfort, and performing/reviewing baseline patient assessments and evaluating patient response to diagnostic cardiac procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Performs accurate and thorough echocardiograms as ordered by physician.
  • Performs specialized testing using computer-assisted devices, including TEE, Stress Echo, and Pharmacological Stress Echos.
  • Cross-trained to perform EKGs, Treadmills, and Holter monitors as needed.
  • Maintains and reviews equipment, ensuring proper function and calibration of machines.
  • Maintains high skill level through participation in CQI, in-services, ongoing education, and attendance at 80% of staff meetings.
  • Ability to provide on-call coverage outside of standard scheduled hours per department and/or facility policy.
  • Recognizes and promptly acts upon unusual results or patient response by informing primary health care team to ensure patient safety and foster optimal outcomes.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association.
  • Currently registered at American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or via CCI as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS).
  • One year of experience in cardiac ultrasound (echocardiography) preferred.
  • Graduate of a diploma, associate, or baccalaureate academic program in health science (including but not limited to, cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, or nursing) OR graduate of a programmatically accredited program in cardiac ultrasound (echocardiography).
