We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Cardiovascular Surgical Technologist to join our team at St. David's Medical Center. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety in the operating room.
Responsibilities- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the operating room suite, including cleaning and sterilization of equipment.
- Provide instrumentation and support to the surgeon during procedures.
- Participate in the care and cleaning of operating room equipment.
- Prepare patients, equipment, and operating rooms for each procedure/surgery.
- Maintain a clean and safe operating room suite for surgical patients.
- Perform intra-operative management of assigned procedures and anticipate needs of the surgeon.
- Assist the circulating nurse in maintaining correct instrument counts.
- Be responsible for supply and equipment management, including determining needs, ensuring availability, and maintaining equipment through proper sterilization.
- Previous experience as a Surgical Technician with demonstrated competency in Cardiovascular cases.
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or hospital-conducted on-the-job training with proof of program content and completion.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per St. David's Healthcare policy.
- Surgical Technologist certification from a recognized organization, such as the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or the National Center for Competency Testing.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
