The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Cardiovascular Technologist to join our team in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. As a Cardiovascular Technologist, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases, working closely with our team of physicians and healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities of the position include:

  • Preparing patients for procedures by reviewing medical history, draping and positioning the patient, preparing procedural/testing sites and administering contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice
  • Assisting physician with performing diagnostic and therapeutic vascular interventional procedures
  • Performing related imaging procedures
  • Analyzing results and taking appropriate action to resolve image quality issues
  • Educating patient regarding procedures, equipment, and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation
  • Assisting with monitoring patient condition continually and reporting/responding to changes in status as appropriate
  • Preparing equipment and supplies
  • Implementing safety standards and performing appropriate quality control procedures on equipment
  • Troubleshooting, resolving, and/or reporting equipment malfunctions as necessary
