Position Overview:

As a vital member of the pharmacy team, the Evening Pharmacist plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective distribution of medications within the healthcare facility. This position requires a commitment to excellence in patient care and collaboration with healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately process medication orders and verify technician-prepared products prior to release.
  • Maintain the security of the pharmacy and manage controlled substances responsibly.
  • Input orders and patient information with precision, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
  • Assist in training new pharmacy staff and keep the Director informed about daily operations.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of medication orders for appropriateness and safety, addressing any discrepancies with prescribers.
  • Prepare and dispense medications, ensuring proper labeling and documentation.
  • Participate in inventory management and maintain accurate records as mandated by law.
  • Engage in continuous education to stay current with pharmaceutical practices and regulations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited institution preferred.
  • One to two years of experience in a hospital pharmacy setting is advantageous.
  • Current pharmacist license in the relevant state.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
