Position Summary:

This role is responsible for leading staff and designing engaging activities for campers enrolled in our Before and After Care Camp program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in mandatory staff orientation and parent engagement events.
  • Oversee, mentor, and assist in the evaluation of Before and After Care staff.
  • Collaborate with the Camp Director to guarantee a secure and enjoyable environment for both campers and staff.
  • Develop activity schedules tailored for campers in Before and After Care.
  • Assist with camp operations, including supply ordering, record management, and camper assessments.
  • Communicate effectively with parents in a customer-focused manner.
  • Identify and address opportunities for problem resolution.
  • Guide groups and individual campers to ensure successful participation in all camp activities.
  • Monitor camper behavior, assess its appropriateness, and implement suitable behavior management strategies.
  • Educate and enforce safety regulations and emergency protocols.
  • Attend all staff meetings throughout the summer season.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED is required; a college degree is preferred.
  • Essential prior experience in camp or childcare settings.
  • Administrative and supervisory experience is advantageous.
  • Ability to perform essential tasks at camp, including auditory, visual, ambulatory, cognitive, communication, and physical capabilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to connect with peers, parents, and campers of varying ages and skill levels.
  • Willingness to accept and provide guidance and supervision.
  • Ability to engage enthusiastically with children and provide effective supervision.
  • Capability to assist campers during emergencies, including fire, evacuation, illness, or injury.
  • Previous Judaic experiences are preferred.
  • Current American Red Cross CPR/First Aid certification is required for specific camps (training may be provided if necessary).

Note: Some camps may require successful registration on the Missouri Family Care Safety Registry as a condition of employment, which must be maintained in good standing for continued employment.
