Key Responsibilities:

  • The focus of the role is on the refurbishment and reconditioning of components, particularly in hydraulics (cylinders, valves, pumps, and motors), engines, and powertrains.
  • Responsibilities range from basic troubleshooting and preventive maintenance to component replacement.
  • A foundational understanding of equipment operation and related systems is necessary.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic circuits, including schematics and diagrams, is required.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools (e.g., Cat ET, CAT-SIS) is essential.
  • Familiarity with electronic cables, connections, and sensors is expected.
  • Maintain, diagnose, and repair a variety of machinery, including diesel engines, transmissions, drive train components, winches, high-pressure pumps, centrifugal pumps, air compressors, microprocessor controls, electro-mechanical systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, gearboxes, PTOs, 12/24v electrical systems, equipment cabs and controls, chassis and suspension, and A/C systems.
  • Conduct inspections as mandated by company policies.
  • Install and/or replace new or refurbished repair components.
  • Test equipment to ensure proper functionality.
  • Provide exceptional customer service.
  • Operate lifting devices safely.
  • Complete necessary documentation as assigned, including parts requisitions, time cards, part returns, and detailed service reports.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma is required.
  • Preferred candidates will have 3+ years of relevant experience in heavy equipment repair and reconditioning.
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and/or be on call 24 hours may be necessary.
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting methods and appropriate repair techniques is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics, as well as operating and maintenance manuals, is essential.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills are necessary, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage stress in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be a team-oriented individual who is enthusiastic and diligent, capable of working independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, along with strong written and verbal communication abilities, are required.
  • Personal discipline to represent Blanchard Machinery professionally while interacting with customers is essential.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are critical, with a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to address issues involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
