Position Overview: The role involves the thorough cleaning and upkeep of educational facilities and their surrounding areas. The individual will be responsible for ensuring that assigned locations are maintained in a clean and orderly manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, mopping, waxing, and buffing various surfaces within the building.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of windows, walls, and ceilings, while also polishing brass fixtures and other display items.
  • Ensure sanitary conditions in restrooms and other facilities.
  • Collect and dispose of waste materials from designated areas to appropriate disposal sites.
  • Assist in moving and rearranging furniture and equipment as needed.
  • Change light bulbs and perform minor maintenance tasks.
  • Participate in outdoor maintenance, including lawn care and snow removal when necessary.
  • Collaborate with team members to manage supplies and materials effectively.
  • Adhere to all policies regarding equal employment and non-discrimination, following applicable federal and state laws.

Salary Information:

Maximum Salary: $18.85

Minimum Salary: $16.79

Qualifications:

  • Completion of at least the eighth grade.
  • A minimum of six months of experience in cleaning or custodial work.
  • A valid Maryland Noncommercial Class C or equivalent driver's license is preferred.
  • Familiarity with cleaning methods, materials, and techniques.
  • Understanding of basic safety practices and procedures related to custodial work.
  • Ability to operate and maintain basic hand and power cleaning tools.
  • Capability to work with various cleaning chemicals and solutions.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and following instructions.
