Position Overview: The role involves the thorough cleaning and upkeep of facilities and their surrounding areas. The individual will ensure that assigned spaces are maintained in a clean and orderly fashion. Responsibilities may include the relocation of furniture and equipment as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform cleaning tasks such as sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, mopping, waxing, and buffing floors, hallways, stairs, and interior spaces. Utilize standard cleaning equipment including vacuum cleaners, buffers, and mops.
- Wash windows, walls, and ceilings; polish brass and other fixtures; and dust and polish furniture.
- Maintain sanitary conditions in restrooms.
- Collect and transport waste and refuse from designated areas to appropriate disposal sites.
- Assist in moving and rearranging furniture and equipment as needed.
- Replace and install light bulbs.
- May include outdoor tasks such as weeding, lawn mowing, and snow removal from pathways and grounds.
- Collaborate with team members to manage supplies and materials effectively.
- Adhere to all equal employment and non-discrimination policies, as well as federal and state regulations.
Salary Information:
Maximum Salary: $18.85
Minimum Salary: $16.79
Qualifications:
- Completion of the eighth grade.
- At least six months of experience in cleaning or custodial work.
- A valid Maryland Noncommercial Class C or equivalent driver's license is preferred.
- Familiarity with cleaning methods, materials, and techniques.
- Understanding of basic safety practices and procedures related to custodial work.
- Ability to operate and maintain basic hand and power cleaning tools and equipment.
- Competence in handling cleaning chemicals and solutions.
- Ability to read, write, and follow instructions accurately.
