Job Title: SMTS Silicon Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled SMTS Silicon Design Engineer to join our team at Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. This role will involve researching, designing, developing, and testing electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead definition, design, verification, and documentation for ASIC development
  • Determine architecture design, logic design, and/or system simulation
  • Define module interfaces/formats for simulation
  • Lead the development of multidimensional designs involving the layout of complex integrated circuits
  • Evaluate all aspects of the process flow from high-level designs to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use
  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop ASIC/layout design, addressing complex issues that require in-depth evaluation of variable factors
  • Drive projects or processes of significant technical importance, exercising independent judgment to select methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
  • Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products
Requirements:
  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • 36 months in job offered or closely related engineering role
  • Alternate combination of education and experience: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field and five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in job offered or closely related engineering role
  • Three (3) years of experience in the following: Hardware verification, Graphics IP architecture verification, Design flows and methodologies used for chip verification, Developing and optimizing machine learning methods for graphics IP, SOC Design Verification, Power data delivery for Graphics SOC using WhatIf and PTPX flow, FPGA-based systems design, and Chip-to-chip and SoC-internal transfer protocols
