Engineering Technician

Corning is seeking a skilled Engineering Technician to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing operations, you will be responsible for providing technical support and troubleshooting assistance to production operations and plant equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide problem-solving and troubleshooting support to production operations and plant equipment.
- Interface with operators, team leaders, and peers to develop and implement process, equipment, or safety improvements.
- Work with engineering to develop equipment specifications and requirements, and organize meetings to review proposals and quotes prior to purchasing.
- Develop maintenance and operator training and troubleshooting documentation.
- Document process procedures and support master trainers with training on new equipment.
- Provide processing support during product development, develop plans for employing new technology into production, and ensure that the new technology is repeatable in the production environment.
Requirements:
- High School or equivalent.
- 2-7 years of manufacturing or technical environment experience.
- Desire to learn and technically curious.
- Strong technical/mechanical understanding.
- Able to collaborate across organizational boundaries and integrate solutions.
- Results-oriented and high commitment.
- The ability to learn new technology and processes quickly.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2-year technical degree preferred with 2+ years of manufacturing experience.
- Equipment or process troubleshooting experience.
- Knowledge of electrical and/or mechanical systems.
- Design software knowledge (SolidWorks, CAD, others).
- TwinCat or Allen Bradley PLC experience a plus.
- 3D printing or rapid prototyping experience.
- Data analysis skills.
- Ability to use basic measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, and rulers).
Work Hours:
M-F 8am-5pm, with periodic off-hours (on-call) coverage.
This position does not support immigration sponsorship.
The range for this position is $55,599.00 - $76,449.00, assuming full-time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
