Certified Welding Quality Inspector

In the role of a Certified Welding Quality Inspector, you will be tasked with performing evaluations at various construction sites. If you possess the necessary certification, demonstrate reliability, exhibit a strong work ethic, and can engage with colleagues and clients in a professional manner, this position may be a perfect fit for you.

Starting salary: $25 per hour

  • Compensation is adaptable, reflecting your experience, skill set, and certifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute inspections as a Certified Welding Quality Inspector across multiple projects.
  • Assess and document welding inspections to guarantee compliance with building codes.
  • Familiarity with Construction Materials Standards, Specifications, and Codes (AISC, ASTM, AWS) is essential.
  • Prepare daily reports detailing observations and test outcomes.
  • Collaborate with client representatives (supervisors, foremen, project managers, engineers, etc.) at project locations.
  • Participate in client meetings concerning pre-construction, pre-fabrication, and other construction discussions to provide insights on quality standards.
  • Work alongside fabrication, construction, and quality teams to ensure adherence to quality benchmarks at project sites or fabrication facilities.
  • Knowledge of sampling and testing construction materials (structural steel, steel products, bridge components) according to project standards and specifications is required.

Required Qualifications

  • Must possess a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification from the American Welding Society.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ultrasonic (UT) certification is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to interpret construction plans and specifications, understand construction processes, and be familiar with Standard Codes.
