Job Summary

The Metal Process Optimization Engineer will be responsible for managing scrap reduction in production, designing and simulating pattern rigging for new and existing products, and creating process techniques to ensure metallurgical and NDT integrity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively with internal customers to provide updates on progress against key milestones.
  • Manage scrap reduction in the production operation by identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes.
  • Design and simulate pattern rigging for new and existing products using CAD software such as SolidWorks.
  • Create process techniques to produce and control the metallurgical and NDT integrity of products.
  • Develop and maintain operational sequences for part manufacture in conjunction with administrative, manufacturing, quality, and NDT disciplines.
  • Create and manage project timelines to move products through the shop, providing regular status updates to engineering and production management.
  • Develop and manage BOMs (Bill of Materials) and ensure accurate standard costs.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to production processes and implement solutions.
  • Create and maintain documentation of work instructions and procedures for front-end production processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field required.
  • 1+ year of experience in a manufacturing setting, with 2+ years of experience in sand or investment casting foundry preferred.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of CAD software such as SolidWorks.
  • Ability to work with others in a fast-paced environment.

Estimated Salary: $90,000 - $110,000 per annum
