Position Overview:
The Physician Assistant will be responsible for providing medical care under the supervision of a licensed physician. This role requires a valid license and registration as a Physician Assistant by the appropriate state authority.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough medical histories for prospective admissions.
  • Perform physical examinations and offer counseling to patients regarding their health conditions.
  • Order and interpret laboratory tests, x-rays, and other diagnostic procedures.
  • Assist in patient discharge planning, including preparing discharge summaries and ensuring record completeness.
  • Collaborate as a vital member of a multi-disciplinary team, participating in Treatment Team meetings and contributing to patient care and facility operations.
  • Serve as a health advisor within the team.
  • Engage in initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care and operational efficiency.
  • Utilize computer systems proficiently for documentation and record-keeping.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Additional Information:

All candidates will undergo a comprehensive background investigation, which includes:

  1. Verification against the Staff Exclusion List (SEL) to ensure no history of serious abuse or neglect.
  2. A Criminal Background Check (CBC) involving state and federal history checks.
  3. Screening against the Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCR).

It is essential that all convictions are disclosed, as any felony or misdemeanor convictions, or any false information provided, may disqualify a candidate from appointment.

Fingerprinting may be required to obtain criminal history records, and candidates may need to cover any associated fees.
