Job Summary

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to join the State of Illinois as a Senior Application Developer. As a key member of the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining web applications using ASP.NET, C#, SQL Server, and W3C- and IITAA-standards compliant HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain web applications using ASP.NET, C#, SQL Server, and W3C- and IITAA-standards compliant HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Collaborate with project and team managers to identify and prioritize project requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members on web application development and maintenance.
  • Stay up-to-date with new developments in the information technology field by attending meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences.
Requirements
  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to four (4) years of college with course work in computer science or directly related fields.
  • Requires three (3) years of professional experience in Application Services or a related Information Technology field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Three (3) years of professional experience developing web applications using ASP.NET with C#, SQL Server, and W3C- and IITAA-standards compliant HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Ability to analyze data logically and exercise sound judgment in defining and evaluating problems of an operational or procedural nature.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team programming setting.
Specialized Skills
  • Requires three (3) years of professional experience developing web applications using ASP.NET with C#, SQL Server, and W3C- and IITAA-standards compliant HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

The Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) is the state's IT agency delivering an enterprise approach to statewide technology, innovation, and telecommunication services, as well as policy and standards development, lifecycle investment planning, and cybersecurity services.

This position is a union position, and provisions of the relevant collective bargaining agreement/labor contract apply to the filling of this position.
