Oncology Care Associate II Role

Job Summary:

The Oncology Care Associate II is a vital member of the patient care delivery team, responsible for providing technical, multi-skilled direct and indirect patient care activities. Working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, this role involves delegating tasks based on patient and unit needs. The Oncology Care Associate II must report all deviations from expected patient parameters to the Registered Nurse.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate and cooperate with the healthcare team to establish a healing environment, focusing on aspects of care mutually determined to be most important.
  2. Provide physical support for patients with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, showering, feeding, dressing, getting out of bed, using the toilet, walking, standing, or exercising.
  3. Perform general clerical duties, such as answering telephones and call lights promptly, greeting patients and visitors, maintaining departmental files, paging professional staff, requesting prior medical records, ordering equipment, and maintaining inventory of supplies.
  4. Ensure compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSH, and maintain a safe and clean working environment.
  5. Perform other related job duties as requested.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Graduation from a school of practical nursing, a Certified Nurse Assistant Program, a Medical Assistant Program, or equivalent training.
  • Must be able to successfully complete the basic cardiac arrhythmia monitoring class.
  • Previous hospital experience is preferred.
