Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Research Nurse Coordinator to join our team at Connecticut Children's. As a key member of our clinical trials team, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing clinical trials in accordance with federal and state regulations, Institutional Review Board (IRB) approvals, and Connecticut Children's policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage clinical trials, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and institutional policies.
  • Collaborate with Principal Investigators, Clinical Research Associates/Assistants, and other team members to execute trial-specific protocol requirements.
  • Perform medical clinical assessments and interventions, including vital signs, phlebotomy, and administration of investigational medications.
  • Provide patient education and medical information to clinical trial participants and their families.
  • Ensure medical equipment is functioning properly and maintain inventory of clinical supplies and linens.
  • Participate in recruitment and selection of clinical trial participants, consent/assent process, and data collection and entry.
  • Coordinate appointment scheduling with ancillary departments and provide timely information to study Sponsors.
  • Oversee procurement, preparation, and shipping of research specimens as needed.
  • Meet with Principal Investigators regularly to review progress, identify challenges, and reconcile issues.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma from an accredited program for Registered Nurses or Advanced Practice RN.
  • Previous experience as a professional nurse or APRN, preferably in pediatrics.
  • Clinical research experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of research protocols, regulations, human research protection principles, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines.
  • Counseling and teaching techniques, medical equipment, and computer proficiency in Microsoft Windows environment.
