Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Deliver high-quality surgical care as part of a collaborative team.
  • Engage in Bread and Butter General Surgery with a focus on trauma at a single hospital and clinic.
  • Participate in shared call responsibilities, averaging 8 days per month.
  • Utilize advanced surgical technology, including the da Vinci robotic system, with accessible scheduling.
  • Work alongside two other surgeons and a full-time Physician Assistant.
  • Contribute to the mission of Ascension by providing compassionate care and engaging in community service.

Qualifications

Licensure/Certification:

  • MD/DO credentials from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation required prior to employment.
  • Advanced Life Support certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is preferred.

Education:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree required.
Additional Preferences

Experience in practice is preferred.
