Responsibilities

We are looking for a proficient General Surgeon to enhance our practice in Kankakee, IL. This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to collaborate with Ascension Medical Group in delivering quality medical services.

Position Highlights:

  • Ascension St. Mary's Hospital is recognized as a Level II Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center.
  • Opportunity to engage in Bread and Butter General Surgery with Trauma at a single hospital and clinic on the hospital grounds.
  • Shared call responsibilities within the group; 8 days per month.
  • Access to da Vinci robotic systems with convenient scheduling and block time.
  • The practice includes two additional surgeons and a full-time Physician Assistant.

Qualifications

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

  • Physician MD/DO credentialed by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, required prior to hire.
  • Advanced Life Support certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is preferred.

Education:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree.
Additional Preferences
