Position Overview

The Retail Merchandise Specialist plays a vital role within the store environment, collaborating with the management team to achieve operational objectives by identifying, selecting, and forwarding valuable items to our eCommerce division, thereby supporting the expansion of Goodwill's online retail presence. This position may also involve various responsibilities within the store as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducts thorough evaluations of incoming donations to identify high-value merchandise.
  • Organizes and processes products for both eCommerce listings and in-store displays.
  • Completes necessary training to assist the site in meeting online sales targets.
  • Maximizes the percentage of items posted online while ensuring a high average sale price.
  • Maintains a clean and organized workspace.
  • Achieves financial targets and adheres to budgetary guidelines.

  • Customer Service Orientation: Ability to understand and relate to customers effectively, ensuring satisfaction with our products and services.

  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with G Suite, MS Office, databases, and internet navigation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the value of antiques and designer items, including jewelry, artwork, and collectibles, with an understanding of current market trends.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, and lifting items weighing between 10-50 pounds.
  • Visual capabilities including close, distance, and peripheral vision, as well as depth perception.
