About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Security Specialist to join our Asset Protection team at Target. As a Security Specialist, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our guests and team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Guest Safety and Security: Ensure the safety and security of our guests and team members by assessing and maintaining safe and secure standards throughout the store, including exterior property.
  • Incident Response: Respond to and accurately document security incidents, including theft and fraud.
  • Merchandise Recovery: Conduct productive merchandise recoveries and provide apprehension support as needed, strictly adhering to Asset Protection policies and procedures.
  • Loss Prevention: Prevent theft and shortage at the front of store by performing receipt checks for exposed high-dollar merchandise.
  • Training and Development: Train team members to apply merchandise protection and audit execution, and teach and train team members on operational shortage focus area opportunities as directed by Asset Protection leadership.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Age: Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • Licensure: Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position.
  • Skills: Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and other team members, effective communication skills, ability to work both independently and with a team, and ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
  • Physical Demands: Climb up and down ladders, apprehend subjects in accordance with company policy, scan, handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 40 pounds.
