Electrical Engineer Job Description

At Technip Energies, we are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our Electrical and Instrumentation team in Houston, Texas.

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing and supporting the development of all types of Electrical deliverables on a project, including electrical power studies, electrical area classification drawings, one-lines, schematics, and wiring design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and/or support a team of Electrical Engineers and Electrical Designers on PDP, FEED, and Detail Engineering Projects
  • Develop project scope of work for electrical engineering and design
  • Monitor and advise Department Manager of major project changes
  • Prepare detail design schedule milestones, staff loading schedules, and man-hour estimates for engineering and design tasks
  • Report progress, update schedules, manage staffing needs, and hourly budget
  • Establish engineering and design concepts and data for scope assigned to group and assure technical accuracy and conformance to project requirements
  • Prepare project scope deviations documentation as required
  • Research suitable solutions, estimated cost, and timescales
  • Train less experienced engineers
  • Review vendor documents
  • Independently evaluate the selection and/or modification of standard techniques, procedures, criteria, and systems to efficiently meet project objectives
  • Apply standard engineering design tasks and exhibit a working knowledge of applicable codes
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate detailed phases of work
  • Review and generate design data and/or deliverables from various inputs
  • Perform the more sophisticated and complicated designs in accordance with established company standards
  • Coordinate details and miscellaneous design criteria with other disciplines
  • Supervise, check, and assist other electrical personnel in their assignments
  • Prepare and/or supervise and check documents and drawings as required

Requirements:

  • 10+ years in LNG, Energy Transition, Carbon Capture, Refining, and/or Petrochemical Plant Engineering/Design
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering
