General Overview:
The Human Resources Faculty Staffing Specialist/Evaluator is responsible for assessing educational qualifications, competencies, and accreditation criteria for faculty and staff. This role ensures adherence to accreditation standards as mandated by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) and maintains precise and current records of employee qualifications. The Specialist collaborates with Academic Affairs hiring managers to facilitate the recruitment and onboarding processes for faculty members. This position is tasked with providing continuous guidance and support on hiring procedures through effective communication with hiring managers regarding established protocols. Responsibilities include recruiting and advertising open positions while ensuring accuracy and timeliness in staffing.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Analyze and evaluate academic transcripts and credentials to ensure compliance with accreditation standards as governed by SACSCOC for faculty and staff positions.
  2. Track transcript extensions and related correspondence, ensuring appropriate follow-up in accordance with institutional policies.
  3. Interpret and clarify transcript and credential evaluations to employees and applicants.
  4. Research and verify institutions, programs, credentials, and accreditation to ascertain document authenticity.
  5. Maintain and update the employee credential database and ERP software, ensuring accurate compensation levels in the Faculty Action Tracking database.
  6. Process and create Faculty and Staff Posting requests for each vacancy.
  7. Keep an updated list of vacant positions on the college's careers website.
  8. Update necessary information for faculty and staff in the college's online catalog.
  9. Collaborate with advertising agencies to design and place job advertisements, selecting appropriate sources while adhering to Human Resources guidelines.
  10. Provide ongoing training and guidance to department chairs and search committee members on recruitment policies and applicant tracking systems.
  11. Assign search committee members to each Faculty posting in line with Human Resources guidelines.
  12. Ensure hiring proposals and recommendations are complete, accurate, and routed for required approvals promptly.
  13. Monitor job postings and assist with reviewing employment applications to ensure a sufficient pool of candidates.
  14. Extend and document formal employment offers to selected candidates.
  15. Assist with onboarding documentation and create identification numbers for new hires.
  16. Maintain and update the applicant tracking system workflow, auditing status and communicating updates to relevant staff.
  17. Assist in the research, review, and communication of job descriptions to hiring managers.
  18. Provide necessary data to Payroll staff for accurate and timely processing of faculty employee information.
  19. Maintain confidentiality regarding applicant and employee information as required.
  20. Compile reports and communicate information as requested by department chairs, administrators, and executive staff.
  21. Assist in developing, revising, and updating staffing guides, procedures, manuals, training materials, and forms.
  22. Maintain constant communication with Human Resources personnel regarding hiring documents, salary placement, pay plans, staffing plans, and position control.
  23. Coordinate and participate in employment job fairs.
  24. Stay informed about the college's programs, policies, procedures, and SACSCOC requirements.
  25. Travel throughout the college district as needed.
  26. Perform other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree is required.
  2. At least two (2) years of experience in a Human Resources environment is preferred.
  3. Experience in higher education and knowledge of college transcript evaluations is preferred.

  3. A valid Texas driver's license and proof of liability insurance are required.
  4. Human Resources certification is preferred.
