Job Summary:

Rhode Island Energy is seeking a highly skilled Gas Training Specialist to join our team. As a Gas Training Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering technical training programs to gas clients through a blended learning approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs to gas clients, focusing on theory and practical applications.
  • Conduct Annual Expert Training (AET) and Operator Qualification reviews to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Align training programs with National Gas Association (NGA) Operator Qualifications to ensure relevance and effectiveness.
  • Utilize Operator Qualification Aging reports to identify training needs and ensure timely delivery of training programs.
  • Conduct training on gas equipment, demonstrating company-approved methods of installation and operation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with gas clients, including yard coordinators, schedulers, and supervisors.
  • Assess training needs associated with the introduction of new procedures and technologies.
  • Collaborate with the Pipeline Safety Management team to design and develop training programs for gas clients.
  • Support the development of computer-based training programs and maintain accurate records.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
  • 3-6 years of direct gas experience, with a strong understanding of gas regulation and procedures.
  • Familiarity with Federal DOT 192 CFR and NGA Pipe Joining Manual.
  • Excellent knowledge of gas-related equipment and systems.
  • Working knowledge of computer systems and software.
  • Gas field operations experience highly preferred.
  • Experience in managing a field workforce highly preferred.
  • Ability to work on emergency assignments and maintain a valid driver's license.
