We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Culinary Services Director to join our team at Atria Senior Living. As a key member of our community, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our kitchen and dining venues, ensuring that our residents receive exceptional culinary experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Supervise and manage all Culinary Services staff, including scheduling, assignment, direction, performance reviews, and hiring.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Meet regularly with residents and family members to ensure high satisfaction levels are maintained.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the restaurant manager or coordinator to provide high levels of customer service and create a restaurant-style dining atmosphere.
  • Quality Control: Confirm that the front-of-house and back-of-house staff work together to deliver a food product that exceeds resident and guest expectations.
  • Operations and Maintenance: Assist kitchen and restaurant staff with back and front-of-house operations as needed, including working all stations in the kitchen and/or dining room if required.
  • Financial Management: Work with the Executive Director and front-line staff to obtain and maintain department Customer Satisfaction and Quality Enhancement levels at or above designated scores.
  • Employee Engagement: Delegate tasks to all staff to maintain the highest levels of cleanliness and quality in the kitchen and restaurant areas.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure that all food is prepared, stored, and served according to Company standards and state and/or local health code requirements.
  • Staff Development: Interview and hire staff for the Culinary Services department, conduct and participate in monthly department meetings/in-services, and maintain employee satisfaction scores at or above designated levels.
  • Menu Planning and Budgeting: Work with staff and residents to plan and develop recipes and menus based on resident preferences and monthly budgets.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain the appropriate inventory of kitchen supplies, small wares, and tableware.
  • Purchasing and Vendors: Ensure that purchasing standards are maintained and that appropriate vendors are used at all times, maintaining strong and positive relationships with all vendors.
  • Special Events: Plan, prepare, and execute Engage Life events, special events, banquets, and theme meals.
  • Marketing and Promotion: Work closely with the Community Sales Director and community staff to market the community via Taste of Atria Road Shows and Signature Items.
Requirements
  • Culinary Experience: Five (5) or more years of culinary experience in the hospitality industry.
  • Education: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Skills and Abilities: Strong organization and time management skills, able to resolve problems of dissatisfied customers and/or employees, food handlers permit as required by state law and/or Company standards, basic computer skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Driver's License: Must possess a valid driver's license and meet Company motor vehicle policy standards.
