Job Overview

Crystal Creamery is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Cold Box Operations Supervisor. This position is crucial for overseeing the efficient management of cold storage equipment and ensuring that production targets are met while maintaining high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operations of cold box machinery, ensuring production schedules are adhered to.
  • Lead a team of operators and technicians, promoting adherence to quality and safety standards.
  • Implement quality assurance protocols to guarantee that products stored in cold boxes meet required temperature and storage specifications.
  • Collaborate with various departments to enhance workflow and achieve production objectives.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of equipment performance, maintenance, and inventory levels.
  • Manage product retrieval for customer orders efficiently.
  • Handle freight operations using both manual and motorized equipment, as certified.
  • Accurately document adjustments for product shortages and maintain load sheets, inventory sheets, and scrap records.
  • Ensure proper rotation of product codes and keep the palletizer supplied with empty pallets for uninterrupted operation.
  • Report any issues related to product or packaging promptly.
  • Complete all required documentation clearly and accurately, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing process enhancements.
  • Encourage a collaborative work environment that values teamwork, respect, and open communication.
Qualifications
  • Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
  • Prior experience in dairy processing or a related field is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrate excellent leadership skills with a proven history of managing teams in a production setting.
  • Ability to motivate and supervise a diverse group of operators effectively.
  • Capable of making quick, informed decisions to minimize downtime and ensure operational continuity.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred; or equivalent experience and training.
  • Proficient in basic arithmetic and able to work with various units of measure.
  • Experience in the food and beverage sector is advantageous.
  • Physical capability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Willingness to work in a temperature-controlled environment and flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
