Position Overview
The Radiation Therapy Specialist II plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care through advanced radiation treatment techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducts treatment simulations based on physician directives.
- Executes dosimetric calculations under the guidance of a physicist or dosimetrist, utilizing both manual and computerized methods.
- Administers the prescribed radiation therapy regimen with precision.
- Assists in Brachytherapy procedures as required.
- Confirms dosage accuracy through measurements and reports any inconsistencies to the supervising physicist.
- Ensures a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors by adhering to established policies and standards.
- Engages in continuous professional development through mandatory education and skills training.
- Commits to providing compassionate and individualized care to all patients and colleagues.
- Performs additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: Must be a graduate from an accredited Radiation Therapy Technology program.
- Licenses/Certifications: Certification as a Radiation Therapist by the American Registry of Radiation Therapy Technologists (ARRT-T) or a temporary certification for recent graduates, along with licensure from the Texas Department of Health (CMRT).
- Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
- Ability to assist in lifting and moving patients safely.
