Key Responsibilities

  • Simulate treatment set-ups according to physician instruction, ensuring accurate and safe delivery of radiation therapy.
  • Perform dosimetric calculations under supervision, utilizing manual or computerized dose calculations to optimize treatment plans.
  • Deliver prescribed courses of radiation therapy with precision and accuracy, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
  • Assist in Brachytherapy procedures, working collaboratively with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Promote a culture of safety and compassion, adhering to all policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development, meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency to stay current with industry advancements.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of Radiation Therapy Technology.
  • Certified Radiation Therapist by the American Registry of Radiation Therapy Technologists (ARRT-T), or temporary certification for recent graduates, up to 60 days post-graduation, and licensed by the relevant state department.
  • Ability to lift and/or maneuver patients in conjunction with others in order to perform job functions.
