Key Responsibilities:

As a Route Driver, you will operate collection vehicles to deliver prompt, courteous, and outstanding service to Aspen's commercial clientele throughout the Des Moines metropolitan area. Your duties will include:

  • Driving the vehicle safely and efficiently while adhering to Aspen's safety protocols and complying with OSHA and DOT regulations
  • Providing top-notch customer service to Aspen's clients
  • Conducting pre and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Communicating promptly with supervisors regarding any safety issues, route changes, maintenance requirements, etc.
  • Completing daily route documentation as instructed

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Possess a valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License with an air brakes endorsement
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DOT Medical certification
  • Safe driving history
  • Understanding of fleet-related OSHA, DOT, and similar federal regulations
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities
  • Experience in waste collection is advantageous
  • Prior experience driving refuse trucks is preferred, but not mandatory
  • Familiarity with the Des Moines metropolitan area is beneficial
  • Consistent and reliable attendance
  • Manual endorsement is required
