Job Title: Real World Learning Manager

Join the Kansas City, MO School District team as a Real World Learning Manager, where you will play a vital role in enhancing educational opportunities for students. As a key member of the Career and Technical Education team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing programs that signal career and college readiness, providing students with access to market value assets before high school graduation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with industry, community leaders, and philanthropic organizations to provide students with real-world learning experiences.
  • Communicate with parents, school personnel, and partners to ensure the growth of Real World Learning opportunities.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of Real World Learning efforts and provide regular support and feedback to encourage the evolution of increasing market value asset offerings.
  • Collaborate with Curriculum and Instruction and Professional Development to review, refine, design, and align the curriculum and materials from middle school to 12th grade to allow students to practice and gain access to Real World Learning opportunities.
  • Organize major Real World Learning activities, including Community Service, Passion Fair, and Exhibitions, Internships, Shadow Days, etc.
  • Provide professional development on elements of Real World Learning.
  • Conduct parent meetings to inform them about enhanced educational offerings and gain information and/or discuss needs and challenges involving students and families.
  • Confer with teachers, parents, and/or appropriate personnel to assist in the evaluation of market value assets and their impact on student achievement.
  • Coordinate with industry, community leaders, and philanthropic organizations to build resources and expand program capacity.
  • Maintain a database of parent, industry, and philanthropic contacts and volunteers to develop ongoing communication and ad hoc committees.
  • Organize various activities, such as presentations, forums, volunteer opportunities, etc., to provide support to the schools, students, and parents.
  • Partner with district departments to ensure correct data is reported and shown on student transcripts.
  • Manage quarterly stakeholder meetings and plan end-of-year recognition luncheons for students and partners.
  • Conduct year-end needs assessments to help the committee develop new and strengthen the following year's offerings.
  • Manage marketing activities and policies to promote Real World Learning.
  • Partner with the Director of CTE to provide leadership to the Real World Learning Advisory Board.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Public Relations, Education, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Proven experience in career readiness program development.
  • High level of personal integrity and professionalism.
  • Highly skilled in making and leveraging contacts and resources.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • 5+ years of professional experience with adolescents/young adults.
  • Highly skilled in curriculum planning and teacher training.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft office software programs.
  • Effective interpersonal, communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, and team-building skills.
  • Highly developed organizational, planning, and management skills, including outstanding writing and oral communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters' degree in Business, Marketing, Public Relations, Education, or a related field.
  • Experience leading projects and/or managerial experience.
