Electrical Service Technician Job Description

Hiller Plumbing is seeking a skilled Electrical Service Technician to join our team. As an Electrical Service Technician, you will be responsible for providing exceptional electrical service and support to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality electrical service and support to customers, ensuring a positive experience and exceeding expectations.
  • Mentor apprentices and provide guidance to ensure they meet performance metrics and achieve desired outcomes.
  • Provide accurate True Transparency pricing to customers, ensuring transparency and trust.
  • Be available for overtime and on-call status to respond to electrical emergencies and provide timely support.
  • Perform thorough electrical inspections, including Health and Safety Checklists, and communicate findings to customers in a written report.
  • Provide electrical service, repair, and/or replacement to customers' electrical systems, ensuring compliance with local codes and regulations.
  • Coordinate with utility service providers and local code officials to ensure proper guidelines are established and followed.
  • Understand and implement Lock Out/Tag Out procedures and follow-up steps as required.
  • Complete all required documentation, collect and record fees, and deliver to designated office administration.
  • Facilitate orders for parts required for appointments and ensure preparedness for service.
  • Submit purchase orders to dispatch or other designated purchasing team administrators.
  • Reschedule customer appointments as needed and transport materials and tools to job sites.
  • Follow state and local laws, regulations, and building codes, and adhere to company standards.
  • Prepare detailed finding reports with pictures to discuss with customers and present repair options, including costs.
  • Keep trucks clean, stocked, and accurately inventoried, and contact dispatch to disposition recall and warranty jobs.
  • Process warranty parts and paperwork as jobs are completed, and record material used or consumed for job costing and replenishing.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure job objectives are met effectively and completely.
  • Inform managers if customers do not have electrical services before leaving the call, and protect customers' homes from damage while working.
  • Manage performance metrics scorecards and communicate the benefits of Club Memberships to customers.
  • Report safety issues and concerns to team leads, supervisors, or managers to investigate and implement solutions.
Requirements:
  • TN State Electrical License preferred or working towards (required in KY).
  • A High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • A minimum of four years' experience preferred but not required in installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and correcting diverse electrical issues.
  • A valid driver's license and approved to drive by Company's insurance carrier.
  • Must be highly organized with good attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Possess good analytical skills and attention to detail with ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and manuals.
  • Excellent customer service skills with desire to exceed customer expectations.
  • Function in a team environment.
