Primary Duties:
- Participate in designated work groups, ensuring systems and processes are established to meet or exceed quality engineering metrics and customer service goals.
- Manage all quality-related issues concerning purchased components.
- Review supplier tooling run-off processes.
- Evaluate quality specifications, APQP documentation, and PPAP submissions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in developing proposals for new business ventures.
- Support product launches until a successful transition is confirmed with customer quality engineering.
- Contribute to the New Product Review process for new product launches.
- Establish and maintain relationships with customers, suppliers, and other critical external stakeholders.
- Integrate lean methodologies and continuous improvement practices into work activities.
- Encourage positive team dynamics and a constructive work environment.
- Clarify expectations, responsibilities, and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Foster teamwork within the team and across the organization.
- Resolve conflicts among team members and with other departments.
- Promote positive relations and morale among team members.
- Execute responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and core values.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Quality Engineering within a manufacturing context.
- Preference for candidates with experience in the Automotive or die-casting sectors.
- Familiarity with manufacturing and CNC machining processes.
- Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
- Knowledge of Automotive Quality Standards such as IATF16949, TS16949, or QS9000 is highly desirable.
- Proficient in PPAP and APQP methodologies.
- Understanding of Quality Assurance techniques, particularly Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Proven ability to create project plans and manage projects to successful completion.
- Advanced proficiency in software tools for report generation and data manipulation (e.g., Microsoft Office, SQC Pack).
- In-depth knowledge of quality control and assurance practices and statistical methods.
- Advanced education and professional certifications are advantageous.
