The position operates under general supervision, ensuring that all claims are handled efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed investigations of assigned claims, confirming coverage and assessing damages.
  • Gather loss reports directly from insured individuals, claimants, or their representatives.
  • Initiate the claims handling process promptly.
  • Recommend and maintain suitable reserves for claim files.
  • Evaluate, negotiate, and settle claims in a fair manner.
  • Perform additional related tasks as directed by the supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Preferred educational background includes an associate's or bachelor's degree.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in adjusting third-party liability claims; greater experience is advantageous.
  • Experience with litigated and/or multi-party claims involving risk transfer is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess coverage and draft coverage position letters.
  • Ability to fulfill continuing education requirements for licensing.
  • Experience in commercial lines is a plus.
  • Exceptional skills in claims handling and customer service.
  • Comprehensive understanding of policy contracts, insurance regulations, and legal procedures.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in various formats.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and organizational abilities.
