Clinical Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Ambulatory Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Primary Care Clinic in Fort Worth. As a key member of our team, you will provide exceptional patient care and education, triage, and support the clinic. This role will involve handling Epic inbasket management, MyChart, and telephone encounters. You will work closely with our primary care department and may be required to cover other clinics as needed.
Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality nursing interventions to assigned patients, consistent with the stated medical plan of care.
- Schedule patients' appointments, tests, and procedures via our online computer system or telephone, and reinforce physician instructions in person and through telephone contact.
- Provide patient education and document patient responses in the medical record.
- Ensure appropriate patient consents and authorizations are obtained for research and/or medical treatment.
- Triage patient phone inquiries according to physician and/or departmental protocols and document actions in patients' medical records.
- Provide working supervision and delegate tasks to licensed vocational nurses, non-licensed medical staff, or office support personnel.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record documentation.
- Participate in the recommendation of policy and/or procedural changes according to nursing expertise.
- Prepare equipment and assist physicians during physical exams and medical procedures.
- Prepare and administer medications as prescribed by physician.
- Inspect equipment and facilities visually and physically to ensure patient safety and proper functioning of equipment.
- Maintain adequate stock of supplies as required for work area.
- Attend and participate in meetings related to clinical activities.
- Graduate of an approved/accredited nursing program.
- Licensure as Registered Nurse by Board of Nurse Examiners for State of Texas.
- One (1) year of clinical nursing experience preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through a course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).
