Job Title: Clinical Pharmacy Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Pharmacy Specialist to join our team at JPS Health Network. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Rounds with interdisciplinary teams to optimize therapy and ensure safe and effective medication regimens for patients.
  • Performs drug utilization reviews, monitors for drug interactions, and assists in maintaining the integrity of our formulary.
  • Participates in antibiotic stewardship programs and provides pharmacokinetic dosing and monitoring services to the medical staff.
  • Evaluates potential adverse drug events and provides education to medical, nursing, pharmacy, and other clinical staff, as well as patients.
  • Serves as a clinical preceptor for pharmacy students and residents.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited college of pharmacy.
  • 1 year of ASHP-accredited residency or 4+ years of acute hospital experience in patient care, demonstrating direct patient care in medication management and participation in patient rounds.
  • Pharmacy license from the Texas State Board of Pharmacy or eligibility for same.
  • Specialty Board Certification or completion within 24 months of hire.
  • Current JPS recognized BLS and ACLS certification.
