Position Overview
As a Crisis Intervention Specialist, you will collaborate with our crisis stabilization team to deliver short-term support to individuals facing mental health challenges.
This role involves providing collaborative, strengths-based, and trauma-informed care to both adults and youth, along with their families, who are undergoing a mental health crisis.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assessing individuals and families in crisis.
- Offering support and connecting them to essential community resources.
- Working alongside community providers to ensure appropriate care levels are met.
Qualifications
This position is open to candidates with either a master’s degree or a bachelor’s degree in social work. While preference is given to those with a master’s degree, we strongly encourage individuals with a bachelor’s degree in social work to apply.
Master's Level Requirements
Candidates must possess a master’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related field, along with a minimum of three years of experience working with adults facing serious mental health issues, substance abuse, or co-occurring disorders. Those with a master’s degree will be responsible for conducting comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and collaborating with other departments.
A valid Michigan Motor Vehicle Operator's license is mandatory. Required licenses include LMSW, LLMSW, LLP, LPC, or LLPC.
Bachelor's Level Requirements
Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in social work and at least one year of experience working with adults dealing with serious mental health challenges, substance abuse, or co-occurring disorders. Individuals with a BSW will focus on crisis intervention, resource connection, and safety planning for at-risk individuals.
A valid Michigan Motor Vehicle Operator's license is also required. Required licenses include LBSW or LLBSW.
