Position Overview

Plains Area Mental Health, Inc. is a dedicated Community Mental Health Center with multiple locations in Northwest Iowa. We are currently looking for a full-time Outreach Worker to be stationed in either Cherokee or Storm Lake, covering Cherokee and Buena Vista counties. This role requires travel and primarily involves fulfilling the responsibilities of a Community Support and HCBS Habilitation worker on an outpatient basis for adults experiencing serious and persistent mental health challenges. The position entails a 40-hour work week from Monday to Friday, with occasional evening shifts.

Compensation:

Salary ranges from $21.64 to $23.80, based on experience.

Role Responsibilities:

Deliver supportive services, skill development, behavioral interventions, and crisis planning for adults with serious mental health conditions, utilizing community support or habilitation services. Services are provided in clients' homes and community environments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field
  • Experience working with adults facing mental health challenges
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Valid Driver's License and Insurance

Preferred Skills:

Bilingual capabilities are advantageous but not mandatory.
