About the Role

This position reports to the Service Manager and is part of the Process Automation Energy Industries division at ABB Schweiz AG.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive service sales processes to generate service sales opportunities and secure profitable sales within designated areas.
  • Penetrate into Installed Base (IB), promoting various upgrades, retrofits, and value-add solutions to benefit customers and ABB.
  • Understand channel strategy and establish related prices, preparing sales plans, reviewing them, and proposing recovery plans when needed.
  • Generate service sales leads and develop new market opportunities by utilizing market trend information and identifying potential new service portfolios.
  • Act as a marketer/salesperson of ABB's service products and solutions during marketing activities, such as campaigns, trade fairs, exhibitions, conferences, and customer meetings.
  • Drive Service project business growth for evolutions, upgrades, and expansions and digital.
  • Provide consulting expertise to customers, explain ABB technologies, and generate new leads for sales pursuits aligned with customer needs.
  • Conduct site walkdown visits, review existing technologies, determine best methods for technology evolution, including installation and re-commissioning.
  • Develop and manage demo systems to present directly to customers.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or business administration or technical field required, with an advanced degree being a plus.
  • Minimum 10 years of related experience with automation systems.
  • Knowledge of automation system components, client/server architectures, and IT, OT, and digital technologies.
  • Experience working at industry sites, plant walkdowns, maintaining safety, and making estimates for proposals.
  • Sales, marketing, technology, and project lead experience.
  • Candidates must have a work authorization permitting them to work for ABB in the US.
