Job Summary

Metcut Research Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Engineering Services Technician to join our team. As an Engineering Services Technician, you will provide technical assistance to project engineers with design, build-up, assembly, instrumentation, and test execution of customer qualification programs, internal research and development (R&D) efforts, and experimental evaluation of advanced technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Support: Provide technical assistance to project engineers with design, build-up, assembly, instrumentation, and test execution of customer qualification programs, internal R&D efforts, and experimental evaluation of advanced technology.
  • Test Equipment Maintenance: Own the setup, instrumentation, assembly, calibration, and specimen preparation of lab test frames.
  • Data Acquisition: Independently run lab tests and perform necessary data checks to ensure data quality.
  • Hardware and Software Support: Support hardware and software architecture and programming of Data Acquisition Systems.
  • Team Collaboration: Interface with internal and external shops, vendors, and team members, including project engineers, test/machining associates, and facilities maintenance associates.
  • Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with test apparatus.
  • Documentation: Coordinate and work closely with teammates to execute lab team objectives and ownership of developing test documentation, including facility, frame build, and data sets.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma. An Associate's Degree in a technical and/or relevant test or engineering experience is a plus.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with the assembly and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical systems, and the use of measurement devices and data acquisition.
