Job Title: Senior Tax Analyst

At Wegmans, we're seeking a highly skilled Senior Tax Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our tax department, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting for income taxes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and develop a team of employees, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of various aspects of Wegmans' financial reporting for income taxes, including preparation of corporate tax accruals, deferred tax calculations, and related footnotes.
  • Prepare federal and state income & payroll tax returns for legal entities within the company, compiling tax information from various systems and analyzing results to provide accurate information.
  • Collaborate with internal and external business partners, using expertise and knowledge to evaluate tax implications and risk of proposed business initiatives.
  • Respond to ad hoc requests for information and analysis, keeping projects on schedule and communicating status and challenges.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
  • 3 or more years of accounting and corporate tax experience.
  • Understanding of accounting for corporate taxes and the tax code, technical aspects of tax preparation and compliance as it relates to income or payroll tax.
  • Ability to think creatively when new business changes or laws are proposed to enable operations to remain cutting-edge while minimizing tax exposure.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2 or more years of progressive tax compliance and/or tax consulting experience.
  • Knowledge of multi-state, multi-business tax complexities.
