Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and responsible professional to work as a Resident Supervisor with the juvenile population in the Shenandoah Valley area.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will provide direct supervision, custody, control, and activities of the residents placed in the juvenile center and daily activities for youth of a single pod.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct supervision and support to residents in a juvenile center setting.
  • Develop and implement facility programming to promote positive outcomes for residents.
  • Assist with intake and release procedures, maintaining accurate written paperwork.
  • Interview new residents regarding personal data and provide orientation to juvenile center rules and procedures.
  • Provide coverage and assistance in all secure areas of the facility.
Requirements
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or a degree from an accredited two-year program in criminal justice, social sciences, or other related field.
  • Possess sound practical knowledge of criminal and anti-social behavior, decision-making and crisis management skills.
  • Ability to effectively document events and situations and input data using a standard computer keyboard.
  • Understand and operate sophisticated communications and security equipment, policies, procedures, and services at the Center.
  • Possess mental alertness and a keen awareness of surroundings.
  • Establish and maintain harmonious relationships with co-workers and the general public.
