Job Summary:We are looking for a dedicated and experienced sonographer to perform transthoracic echocardiograms for patients of all ages, including fetuses, newborns, and adults with congenital heart disease.
Responsibilities:- Assist physicians in performing examinations using standard department protocols and sterile techniques.
- Recognize and address clinical and emergent problems that may interfere with exams.
- Communicate effectively with ordering and interpreting physicians to ensure appropriate use of echocardiograms.
- Maintain active credential status by complying with continual education requirements.
- Report, document, and correct any adverse, unsafe, or unusual conditions.
- Troubleshoot equipment effectively and report issues to biomedical engineering or vendors.
- Full-time position, Monday-Friday.
- Location: Inova L.J. Murphy Children's Hospital.
- One year of experience after acquiring registry in a hospital/healthcare environment in the performance of cardiac or vascular sonography.
- Graduate of an accredited school/program of diagnostic medical sonography or 5 years specialized training in a hospital/healthcare setting.
- ARDMS Registered with RDCS Certification, or CCI Registered with RCS Certification for Echo, or ARDMS with RVT or CCI with the RVS; Certification for Vascular. BLS (AHA).
