Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer Opportunity at Inova Health System

Inova Health System is seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer to join our team at Inova L.J. Murphy Children's Hospital. As a member of our dynamic and experienced team, you will be responsible for performing transthoracic echocardiograms for patients of all ages, including fetuses, premature neonates, and adults with congenital heart disease.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist physicians in performing examinations using standard department protocols and sterile techniques.
  • Recognize and address clinical and emergent problems that may interfere with exams.
  • Communicate effectively with ordering and interpreting physicians to ensure appropriate use of echocardiograms.
  • Maintain active credential status by complying with continual education requirements.
  • Report, document, and correct any adverse, unsafe, or unusual conditions.
  • Troubleshoot equipment effectively and report issues to biomedical engineering or vendors.
  • Perform routine maintenance of echo vascular equipment to ensure consistency of quality images.
Requirements:
  • Full-time work schedule, Monday to Friday.
  • Location: Inova L.J. Murphy Children's Hospital.
  • One year of experience in a hospital or healthcare environment performing cardiac or vascular sonography.
  • Graduate of an accredited school or program of diagnostic medical sonography or 5 years of specialized training in a hospital or healthcare setting.
  • ARDMS Registered with RDCS Certification, or CCI Registered with RCS Certification for Echo, or ARDMS with RVT or CCI with the RVS; Certification for Vascular. BLS (AHA) certification is also required.
