Schaeffler, a leading technology company, seeks a skilled "Strategic Steel Procurement Manager" to provide commodity leadership and establish a category strategy for the North American industrial business division.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Category management for steel and rolling elements
  • Establish and implement a category strategy
  • Build and maintain positive supplier relationships
  • Negotiate and implement contracts
  • Achieve yearly cost savings
  • Collaborate within the region and with the headquarters in Germany
  • Recover costs related to quality and logistics issues
  • Manage escalations regarding delivery, quality, and price

Your Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of applicable work experience
  • Strong negotiation, project management, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to travel to suppliers up to 25%
  • Authorization to work in the US without employment visa or sponsorship

Preferred:

  • Experience with steel and rolling elements
